Along the years, all major DSLR manufacturers have created and perfected their own tools for processing RAW images. Phocus is Hasselblad's solution for anything you would need in order to get the best out of a photo taken with any of their high resolution cameras before you export it for advanced post-production. It can handle TIFF and JPEG images as well as the 3FR and 3F formats. 

Intuitive workspace 

If you've dealt with other RAW processing solutions such as Lightroom, then using Phocus should be a breeze for you. It's not a copy but it does offer a similar layout and workflow. You have the file browser on one side, the thumbnail viewer on the bottom and the adjustment, file information and export panels on the other. 

Phocus enables you to switch between various layouts, as well as add and remove panels according to your needs. A feature that is sure to come in handy is the possibility to create your own layouts for the application which means that you are free to arrange a custom workspace for specific photography styles for file formats. 

A large number of adjustments 

When it comes to applying correction filters or enhancing certain features of a photo, Phocus comes with a fairly large arsenal of tools. With it you are able to correct lens distortions and vignetting, as well as make use of HNCS, Hasselblad's Natural Color Solution. 

Since Hasselblad cameras are known for their high resolution images, Phocus enables you to remove moire directly from the raw file thus preserving all the details. Apart from these, the application also grants you the use of dust removal, sharpening, noise filtering, white balance and other must have tools. 

Remote camera controls

Graphics adapters 
• You should be aware that the Phocus viewer utilizes the processing power of the GPU - therefore using a PC with a high performance GPU is definitely an advantage. 

Memory 
• We recommend at least 8GB of memory 

Supported products 
• Image files from all Hasselblad FireWire based digital camera products are supported. Tethered operation will work with the same range of cameras except for the first generation Ixpress series. 
• Capture of micro-step images is not supported. 
• Scanner 3F files are not supported. 
• 3F files generated by Phocus are not backward compatible with FlexColor!

Plex Media Server facilitates a simple solution for uploading local media files and streaming it online, thus creating a media server that can be accessed by you and your friends to enjoy movies, TV shows, music, photos and home videos, regardless of your location worldwide. All of this can be achieved from a web interface. 

Accessibility via the system tray 

After a quick and uneventful setup procedure, Plex Media Server creates an icon in the taskbar notifications at startup, thus allowing you to rapidly bring up the web interface and manage media content, regardless of the workspace you're currently working in. 

Not mentioned in the installer is that the tool automatically starts at Windows boot, and this option can be disabled from the tray icon's context menu. 

Attractive web interface 

It may take a while for the media manager to load in the web browser. As far as looks goes, Plex Media Server is sleek and sophisticated, thanks to a dark theme and intuitively displayed buttons. 

So, you can add a new library by selecting its type between movies, TV shows, music, photos and home videos, along with library name and language. It is possible to include folders with the containing media files, as well as to customize advanced settings in regard to the scanner and agent. The content can be optionally included in the dashboard. 

Manage library content easily 

It is possible to sort items by various criteria, edit general information such as year, tagline, genre and collection, add posters, banners and backgrounds, play media within the browser, put together a playlist with multiple media files and randomize them, synchronize library content to the local files, use a search location to locate a particular file, as well as track all activity performed you and other users with access to the media library. 

Evaluation and conclusion 

No error dialogs were shown in our testing, and the program did not hang or crash. It has minimal impact on computer performance, thanks to the fact that it runs on low CPU and memory. However, it sometimes takes a long while to load media. Other than that, Plex Media Server features an impressive set of intuitive features for all users who want to easily stream their local media files to a media center.

FINITE ELEMENTS 
The Finite Element solver analyzes the stresses on an object then either bends or breaks the object. It can also be used for soft body effects with volume preservation. Take the simulation of digital destruction, and gooey slimy objects, to the next level. 

CLOTH 
Houdini FX's cloth solver can handle multiple layers while generating accurate, realistic results over long simulations. By adjusting a few simple parameters, you can achieve a variety of different looks and material types. 

WIRE & FUR 
Ideally suited to creating hair and fur simulations, the Wire solver in Houdini FX also can be used for other types of thin shapes. Control wires with attributes such as thickness, length, rigidity and curl for added control. 

MODELING, RENDERING, ANIMATION... 
Houdini FX includes all Houdini features including modelling, animation, character rigging, lighting, rendering, compositing and volumes. Digital Assets created in Houdini FX can be opened, animated and rendered in Houdini.
